Winter In July At The Phoenix Zoo

Chill out and enjoy this coolest event in the Valley with your family and friends. This is definitely the perfect time to spend moments with your loved ones while getting in touch with your favorite animals at the Phoenix Zoo. The burning temperature of July does not usually bring plenty of snow, however, the Phoenix Zoo wanted to modify that.

That’s one of the main reason why they come up with an event which will surely be enjoyed by guest, and this is the “Winter in July at the Phoenix Zoo.” This fantastic event happens every year and is being hosted by the Phoenix Zoo and Fry’s Food Stores. They aim to bring cool treats not just to humans but also to all the animals inside the zoo.

But this year, it is predicted that an extraordinary snowstorm will hit Phoenix Zoo which will cause icy conditions and cooler temperatures. It is also believed that the Phoenix Zo will have almost 60 tons of snow for guest and animals to enjoy, with veggies and fruits, plus icy treats all over.

Mark your date now!!! The event will happen on July 20, 2013 Saturday, from 7:00 in the morning up to 11:00 am. It will be held at The Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway.

Featured Activities:

  • Watch out as the zoo animals gnaw on fruit-sicles, blood-sicles, and fish-sicles, and also dig on mountains of snow to look for another treats inside.
  • Test your aim as you throw the snowballs at twirling and spinning targets.
  • Play, stomp, and tromp in almost 20 tons of snow. There will also be a separate snow playing area for older children and toddlers.
  • Watch as giraffes, otters, elephants, warty pigs, and other zoo animals get to the winter spirit as they “beat the heat” during the event.
  • Delight as orangutans, wild dogs, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and other animals as they savor the icy treats and play on the 35 tons of snow.
  • Test your game and dance skills as you play and jam with Radio Disner.
  • Cool off and relax at Yakulla Caverns and Leapin’ Lagoon areas.

General admission cost $20 for Adults and $10 for child, while children ages two years old and below are free of admission charges.
