Ragnar Trail Relay McDowell Mountain Ranch

The event is also best for every family and friends who want to spend time to relax and feel the nature around them as they run, camp, and eat together during the Ragnar Trail Relay McDowell Mountain Ranch.
The Ragnar Trail Relay McDowell Mountain Ranch event will take place on October 18, 2013 (Friday). It will be held at McDowell Mountain Regional Park, Scottsdale, Arizona.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park features about 50 miles of heavenly and breathtaking diverse trails. Every trails offer splendid mountain views, remarkable desert vistas, swooping turns, rugged terrain, and steep inclines. Don’t let yourself miss to see the iconic and truly beautiful southwestern landscapes.
During the Ragnar Trail Relay McDowell Mountain Ranch event, each team will run in a relay style while rotating through the scenic trail loops which generally starts and ends at the Ragnar Village.
Each team will consist of at least 4 to 8 runners that will run for approximately 120 miles. The entire race will take 22 hours to complete. The teams will start in a staggered starting time which is between 10:00 in the morning up to 7:00 in the evening at the main location which is dubbed as the “Ragnar Village” wherein every team will setup their own camp.

Run with your team under a star-lit night sky. The race will finish on the following day (Saturday) between 9:00 in the morning up to 4:00 in the afternoon.

October 18, 2013 (Friday)
12:00pm – 5:00pm: Team Check-in
2:00pm – 11:00pm: Music & Festivities
6:00pm – 10:00pm: Buffet style pasta dinner
2:00pm – 7:00pm: Team starts
8:00pm – 6:00am: Bonfire, s’mores, etc.
October 19, 2013 (Saturday)
8:00am – 4:00pm: Finish Line Festivities
9:00am: First team finishes
4:00pm: Last team finishes
Campsite
Every team that will participate during the event will be provided with a location that will serve as their campsite at the “Ragnar Village”. There will no vehicles allowed at the location, so be sure that you have everything you need inside your bags. The team which has a well-decorated campsite will also receive awards like canopies, camping chairs, tents, couches, kiddie pools, BBQ, and a lot more.
Course
There will be three different courses during the Ragnar Trail Relay McDowell Mountain Ranch:
- Green Loop (Long Trail with 5.10 Miles)
The green loop is also called the “Long Trail. It is the easiest and the shortest of all the loop courses.
- Yellow Loop (T-bone Ridge with 5.70 Miles)
The first 2 miles distance of the Yellow loop course is set on a fabulous single-track trail. You’ll have to have a single-track mind as well to make a climb after the 2 mile run. The climb will then take you towards the top of the T-bone Ridge. A breathtaking view awaits you at the top.
- Red Loop (Pemberton Trail with 7.70 Miles)
The red loop is definitely the longest of all the three trail courses.
