November real estate report on Foreclosure resales

Here is some new news????? NOT! Here is the real news. That number below 61%, well it was closer to 67% at the beginning of this year. There is the story, more Short Sales and more Retail homes are selling. Oh, how about the fact that in most markets property values have increased.  But the good news is home sales continue to surge. This should be the second best year for number of homes sales ever! We are only 2 weeks away, the numbers are clear at this point.

Foreclosures dominate Valley housing resale market

Nov. sales up strongly from year earlier, but 61% involved foreclosures

Foreclosures continued to dominate the housing resale market in November despite continued evidence that they are declining, according to the latest monthly report from Arizona State University.

Foreclosure activity edged lower last month but is still high in some parts of the Valley, such as Avondale, where it represented about 43 percent of sales, and Glendale, with 40 percent.
