Jeff is Back! Surgery was a Success – See pictures and video from Labrum Tear in Hip

Hi! I am back from hip surgery. It really consumed most of my spare time over the past few months. It is amazing how going to the doctor here, getting x-rays there and doing an MRI can take up your time. Not at all to compare to the actual surgery, down time after and recovery.  But first I want to tell you it was not a big deal and I expect a full recovery.

The video above is Dr. Marshall Cook describing the injury and surgery. He was a great doctor and I highly recommend his services. Also, the staff at Scottsdale North Piper Surgery Center were AWESOME! Everyone was helpful, friendly and courteous!

Below is a picture of the MRI showing the tear. You don’t really see the tear, but you see the ink they inserted moving to a place it could only reach with a tear.

Below that are the surgical pictures. You can see the tear and a bone spur. Did the bone spur cause the tear? We don’t really know. But it is gone now. The tear was on both sides of my hip, thus the spur may not have caused it.
