Google Glass: Discover This Controversial Piece Of Technology

What’s with Google Glasses that makes them so controversial these days? Even if the product was not yet released, it’s already involve in several debates, whether the device is for good or a force of evil?

Although the device is one of the hottest, the latest, and most hyped discovery nowadays, according to some studies, only about ten percent of American smartphone users would wear this high-tech specs on a regular basis. One of the numerous reasons is that the device seems to be irritating for few users and some say its an awkward aesthetic. But still, not everyone is totally against Google Glass. Some are so excited to have it as well.

Google Glass Features

Google Glass is a piece of hybrid computer eyeglasses that aims to free files from your portable devices and desktop computers by wearing it and placing it on your eyes. For all purposes and intents, Google Glass is just like a hands-free iPad, touchpad, or camera with microphone and battery placed in a spectacle frames to enable you to see a display of films, take pictures, or translate and search on the go.

Google Glass is using some sort of a display technology to place data and files in front of your vision. The device was made to be seen easily without even obstructing your view.

“The equivalent of a 25-inch high definition screen from eight feet away” – says Google while describing the display feature of Google Glass.

Aside from overlaying your files into your own vision, Google Glass also makes directions more intuitive. You can read and reply to your messages, plus you can also see a real- time transcriptions or translations of what’s being said, all on the go. Google Glass camera also offers an amazing feature because it doesn’t need a viewfinder anymore since it enables wearers to take footage or snaps of what you’re actually seeing.

With a touchpad and microphone on the screen, you can easily choose what you like to do by simply talking to the Google Glass itself and it will then interprets your commands. This piece of eyeglass also allows GPS sharing plus voice-to-text functionality, which means that wearers can still received messages, see them in a display, and answer them via the microphone. The voice-to-text feature has the capability of translating any spoken words into your own kind of language.

Google Glass comes with five color variations: Tangerine, Sky, Charcoal, Cotton, and Shale will be the available colours for these new gadgets.

How Much Is The Cost?

This most hyped device costs approximately $1,500 or around AU$1,449 and £985. The consumer’s version of this device which will be released at the end of year 2013, is expected to be a bit cheaper.

The final releasing date is not yet announced, but some sources says the the 2014 suggestion is overly pessimistic and the public could see the device to arrive at the end of this year.
