We just saw Avatar in 3D at Imax at Desert Ridge. It was so incredible, words can’t describe the experience. This new 3D technology is fantastic. It looked so real. This is the first time I have watched anything in 3D for years and I am impressed. This story was a great first 3D experience because the story is about a transfer of life experience, kind of in the same way that 3D really brought me into this film! I highly recommend the movie.
There are several other movies coming out with this technology, the previews were awesome. I think the most interesting shot was of astronauts at the Hubble Telescope in space. One seemed to be floating right over my head, then the space ship is the next level with another astronaut after that. The 3D effect was so real, as I began to reach my hand out to touch the astronaut I noticed others in my peripheral sight doing the same! That is cool!
BTW, the movie got one of the loudest applause I have heard at a movie!
