It’s time of year again to tie those bibs on. Don’t miss this year’s 4th annual Arizona BBQ Festival. The event will feature over 25 pit masters doing what they do best… BBQ!!!

The 4th annual Arizona BBQ Festival will be held on April 20, 2013, Saturday at Salt River Fields, Scottsdale Arizona. Experience this funniest Honky Tonk and feast on tasty chicken, pork, brisket and ribs with all the fixin’s. The lineup for this year’s event includes:

• 6 Live Bands
• Redneck Games Arena
• Literally tons of smoked meat
• Flavored Vodka Tasting Tent with over 100 types
• Super Macho Mechanical Bull Riding Pit
• VIP Zone with catered food and private bar
• Adult Beverage Lemonade Stand
• Kids Zone with face painters, balloon sculptors, bouncy castles and more
• Chef Cooking Demonstrations on a Sub-Zero/Wolf stage
• Pageants for mullets, tattoos, ‘staches, and Daisy Dukes
• Eating contests
• Helicopter Rides!
• Headlining Band: Metalhead at 7pm!

“Although some of the most popular barbecue teams from years past will be on hand selling their award-winning ‘que,’ we wanted the event to be crazier. By crazy, we simply mean mullets and beer pong,” says event Co-Founder, David Tyda.

One of the biggest and newest attractions to the Arizona BBQ Festival is the Redneck Games Arena. Fans can enter hilarious, redneck-inspired competitions, from hubcap hurling and horseshoe games with toilet seats to watermelon seed spitting contests and arm wrestling. The arena stage emcee is KNIX’s own Barrel Boy. Winners will not only receive a basket full of goodies, but also a chance to caress the barrel. The qualifying games and contest includes the following:

• Dead Lawn Mower Race (3 chances at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm)
• Arm Wrestling (3 chances at 1:15pm, 2:15pm, 3:15pm)
• Watermelon Seed Spitting (3 chances at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm)
• Hub Cap Hurl (3 chances at 1:45pm, 2:45pm, 3:45pm)
• Bobbing for Pigs Feet (2 chances at 2:45pm, 3:45pm)
• Pie Eating Contest (1 contest at 4:00pm)
• Hooters Wing Eating Contest (1 contest at 4:20pm)
• Mullet Pageant (at 5:00pm)
• ‘Stache Pageant (at 5:30pm)
• Redneckiest Tattoo (at 6:00pm)
• Daisy Dukes Contest (at 6:30pm)

Winners will literally become “red necks,” with medal awards strung on red ribbon. The winner with most medals will win a new $1,000 smoker from Green Mountain Grills.

Arizona BBQ Festival 2013 will also feature six live bands on the main stage, and a BBQ cooking classes every hour on the Sub-Zero/Wolf Cooking Demonstration stage, and a tasting sample of the ten latest flavored vodkas on the Flavored Vodka Tent.
