McDowell Mountain Ranch, or MMR, as it is affectionately known by homeowners and local businesses, is an award winning 3,200-acre master-planned community nestled in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains in northeast Scottsdale. The natural beauty and serenity of the mountains along with the unique ecosystem of the Sonoran Desert, makes it an ideal backdrop for homes.

This community, which was first conceived in 1992 and opened to the public in 1995, is made up of 26 distinct neighborhoods, built by 14 different builders. Overall, there are nearly 4,000 homes. Over $130 million was spent on infrastructure and site improvements including a Community Center, the McDowell Center, two heated pools and spas, splash pads, children’s playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic and green areas and miles of paved and natural trails. Today nearby amenities include a city of Scottsdale water park, skate park and public library, and excelling Scottsdale Unified School District schools Desert Canyon elementary and middle.
