Butterfly Wonderland to Open in May 2013
Imagine yourself wandering in a tropical landscape of the rainforest with flowers in bloom, waterfalls, exotic plants, colorful species of amphibians, and fishes while being surrounded by thousands of the most beautiful species of butterflies in the world. Isn’t it amazing? It’s like a dream place and a perfect paradise especially for those environment- friendly people.
You might not believe this but it’s coming to life in Scottsdale, Arizona. Watch as the Butterfly Wonderland will take its flight this May 2013 on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community.
Butterfly Wonderland is one of the world’s newest attractions where you can experience a highly innovative, indoor, rainforest environment. See for yourself the largest, indoor butterfly pavilion in North America.
This 10,000 square foot, glass- enclosed atrium shelters a majestic rainforest environment where you can see thousands of butterflies fly freely around you. The Atlas Moth, the delicate looking Paper Kite butterfly, and the Blue Morpho butterflies are just some of the most- loved butterflies inside the atrium.
“Butterflies are perhaps the most universally loved creatures on earth symbolic of peace, love and hope. Their brilliant colors, diversity of size and shape, remarkable life cycle and uninhibited patterns of flight give inspiration to folks of all ages. We feel extremely fortunate to be able to bring this joyful experience to the Valley.” –said Amram Knishinsky, principal partner and developer of Butterfly Wonderland.
Every visitor will embark on a journey through the life of a butterfly through educational, interactive, and entertaining exhibits as they walk around thousands of the most remarkable species of butterflies in the world. Butterfly Wonderland is part of a projected entertainment complex called Odysea in the Desert. The 522,000-square-foot district is supposed to eventually include an IMAX Experience, a MagiQuest, Odysea Aquarium, a Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, a 4D theater attraction called “Arizona Experience”, retail shops, and restaurants.
“This attraction is going to change the landscape of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community as it is the first phase of a $170 million entertainment district called “Odysea in the Desert. We’re building a rainforest in the desert. And as folks drive along the 101 Freeway in Scottsdale they will start to notice our construction of Butterfly Wonderland and its enormous glass atrium that will stand out against the desert landscape.” –said Amram
