Blogging – it is now it is the future! After a couple of years of Blogging – Now Big Corporations are jumping in – What does this mean to the quality of Blogs?
I must say, as a Realtor we always seem to be on the cutting edge of marketing. Then everyone else catches up. We weren’t spammers, but we were the first to be strong email marketers to our constituency. We hit CraigsList hard. We had landing pages and Stealth Sites. And we were aggressive bloggers. Now Mainstream corporate America is jumping in and I have to tell you this scares me. I know what I can type and how it can affect everyone or just someone.
With Corporate America we seem to see them discover what works and then make it as profitable as possible until, well the past has shown, until it gets fraudulent. This is not to say they will, but let’s just look at the Free Market and what Corporations have done. OK, no time to rehash. You all know. The scariest part is there is no true regulation. I use blogging to drive buyers to homes, leads to my team and spread information. However, it takes a lot of time. I have already used the services of a Ghost writer. I know other agents that use Ghost writers too.
So, what stops or regulates what corporate America has posted, not all of them, just the ones that will do anything for the bottom line. They can hire a stealth company off shore to post what ever. I mean what ever they want. They could post out right lies about their products, safety, studies, and most of all their competition. That scares me. Must I really go further…That’s it folks. What are your thoughts? Please post them on my blog. I look forward to hearing from you.
Just my opinion…JeffRCameron
Corporate Blogging Goes Mainstream
OCTOBER 20, 2010
Becoming fully incorporated into media and marketing
Blogging has been around for well over a decade—an eternity in internet time. Whereas blogs used to be a thorn in the side of traditional journalism, today they’re an essential ingredient in the media mix. Hardly a news organization exists that does not have a blog where its journalists post updates to breaking stories, offer personal commentary and engage in a dialogue with readers and viewers.
Similarly, blogging has grown into a vital marketing tool for all types of companies, including Fortune 500 marketers and mom-and-pop retailers. eMarketer estimates that 34% of US companies will use a blog for marketing purposes this year, a proportion that will continue to grow to 43% by 2012.
“Businesses are increasingly using the blogosphere to further a variety of corporate functions, such as communications, lead generation, customer service and brand marketing,” said Paul Verna, eMarketer senior analyst and author of the new report “Corporate Blogging: Media and Marketing Firms Drive Growth.”
