Basically with the government coming out with HAFA they have admitted HAMP was a failure. HAMP is the modification program. Banks are only modifying notes for people that don’t need it! How does this help? They are also fooling a bunch of people when they give modifications to borrowers with ARM’s. For example, I was given a loan mod by B of A 2 years ago. I thought AWESOME! No, it was a BUMMER. If I wold have stayed in my ARM then last August when my load adjusted I would have gone from 5% to 3%. That is a 40% reduction in interest paid. How would you like your payment to go down by around 40%
All these ARM’s resetting, most are resetting to 3%.
