What an exciting finish to the FIFA World Cup 2010 in Johannesburg as Spain scores a big Goal in 2nd Overtime. Each team looked as they were going to score in the final minute of regulation. Then both were playing very aggressive in overtime. Andres Iniesta scored the winning goal for Spain. They only scored 9 total goals in the entire tournament, but that is all it took. Spain has their first world cup championship.
I am not a fan of soccer. What I mean by that is I don’t really watch soccer except once every 4 years when the World Cup tournament is being played. This last year my son, Carter, played soccer. He is 6 now, but was 5 when he was on the team. He loved it. Soccer was not popular or even really a team sport when I was growing up. It was awesome to see the American team do so well this year. I was disappointed when they got eliminated. They played poorly in that game. But it is exciting to see America be able to compete with the rest of the world.
Hopefully this world cup will get more young kids interested in soccer across the US. I would love to see our talent level grow and maybe someday, a World Cup Championship. We have a long way to go!
I recorded this on my new iphone 4. It was great to have a video camera right there and ready to go.
