Various Dates in August – at Phoenix Art Museum – Phoenix Independent and classic cinema and documentaries relating to art, artists, and works on view in the Museum.
August 1, – at Goodyear Ballpark – Goodyear The Lego Movie (PG), Enjoy the movie from the outfield lawn. Free admission.
August 1, 8 and 15 – at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts – Scottsdale Local bands perform in air-conditioned comfort at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Cheap tickets, familyfriendly, general admission seating.
August 2 – at Phoenix Center for the Arts – Phoenix A convention for dinosaur fans | 3 to 9 pm
August 6 – at Westgate Entertainment District – Glendale Family-friendly event for kids and parents.
August 8 – at Edna Vihel Activity Center – Tempe Participants create art, learn about music and movement and make new friends.
Prowl & Play at the Phoenix Zoo
August 8 – at Phoenix Zoo – Phoenix Water fun, train rides, music and games.
August 14 – at Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center – Phoenix RSVP requested 602-468-6470 | Doors open at 5:30 p.m., program begins at 6:30 p.m
August 16 – at Veterans Memorial Park – Apache Junction Enjoy live music in the evening at Veterans Memorial Park Gazebo in Apache Junction.
August 22-24 – at Hilton Garden Inn – Avondale Science fiction and fantasy convention.
August 23, – at Shadow Mountain High School – Phoenix Dancing, singing, music, plays. An India Independence Day celebration.
El Zaribah Corn Fest & Arts and Crafts Show
August 23-24 – at El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium – Phoenix Food, corn for sale, craft vendors, music prizes. Free admission.
August 30 – at Westin Kierland Resort – North Scottsdale Classes, culinary demonstrations, sample Chef creations and spirits | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thorugh August 31 – at Various Locations – Phoenix Junior golfers ages 17 and under will play for free at any of the three city of Phoenix nine-hole courses this summer, when accompanied by a paid adult.
