Arizona Highlands consists of 110 single family homes located in the community of McDowell Mountain Ranch in north Scottsdale. Arizona Highlands was developed by Kaufman and Broad and they began building in 1996.
Arizona Highlands has six different floor plans consisting of four single level homes and two multi-level homes ranging from 1,846 to 2,646 square feet. Floor plans featured are from 3 to 6 bedrooms. Two to three car garage is a standard feature on these models.

Arizona Highlands is located between The Summit, a Presley homes community of McDowell Mountain Ranch. The McDowell Mountain Preserve is right across the street and offers desert flora with equestrian, hiking and biking trails.
Depending on where you start, a 4 to 7 minute walk will bring you right to the Community Center. It has amenities including children’s playgrounds and splash pads, beautiful pool and spa, tennis and basketball courts.
McDowell Mountain Ranch stays in communication with it’s residents with a monthly Trail Mail Blast giving the latest and greatest news, such as, board meetings, school information, events, laws, and fitness classes in the Community Center. Tennis Court reservations can also be requested on the community website. Some of the popular events include Pizza in the Park, Fall/Spring Fest, Farmer’s Market, and Community Garage Sales.
Desert Canyon Elementary School and Desert Canyon Middle School, rated top schools, are located in the community.
